Blocked Lists are a content type available within certain social media networks. They are the lists of users and pages blocked by a social media account. Most often, these will be users who have violated the account's social media policy in some way to cause the account administrator to take action by blocking the user.
If you have questions about managing trolls and when it is okay to block users, check out our webinar replay on "Troll Patrol: Overcoming Social Media's Dark Side".
Social Media Archiving checks for changes to Blocked Lists daily. Each Blocked List is comprised of zero or more users or pages, and each Blocked List is counted as one record in an archive. If we find that a user or page was added or removed from a list, then we will create a new version of the list. Each version of a list will count as an additional record in your archive.
How are Blocked Lists Used?
With Blocked Lists included in your archive, it's possible to keep track of the timeline for when a particular user or page was blocked or unblocked from an account. You can also use all of the native features in your archive (browsing, searching, and exporting) to keep track of your account's communications to and from a blocked user or page.
How to Enable Blocked Lists for Facebook in the Archive?
The Blocked List content type will automatically be added and enabled for each Facebook page in your archive. Just like other content types, it can be configured at the page level. To enable the capture of Blocked Lists for a particular account, you can toggle the content type's configuration to OFF on the Configure Account page.
Current Limitations of Blocked Lists
- No Backtracking
- 5,000 User Limit (Facebook only)
- Daily Capture: At a minimum, we will request a Blocked list for each page in an organization once a day
- Limited to Facebook and Twitter Only
